PENARTH MP Stephen Doughty has been appointed to Labour's Treasury team, to work as an aide to Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Rachel Reeves MP.
Stephen, who was elected in November, will play a key role in supporting the Shadow Cabinet member in her brief, and will join regular meetings of Labour's frontbench team.
Ms Reeves MP said: "I'm really pleased that Stephen has joined the Labour Treasury team.
"He has huge experience on both UK and global economic challenges from his time at Oxfam, and he has already made his mark here in Parliament speaking up on issues from energy bills to food banks.
"He will also bring a Welsh perspective, and will be a key part of the team supporting the Shadow Cabinet and helping develop our policies for 2015."
Stephen said: "I am delighted to be asked to work with Rachel and the rest of the Treasury team.
"I hope to be able to contribute towards Labour's economic and financial policies in the run up to the next election - ensuring we focus on getting people back into work, putting sustainable growth back into the economy and reforming our banking system."
