A PENARTH man who is charged with murder has appeared in court.
Raymond O'Connell, 63, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, September 5.
He is charged with murdering Lynne Braund, 54, from Barry, who died in hospital after sustaining "severe burns."
Police were called to a house in Glanmor Crescent in Barry on Thursday, August 4 following reports of a serious assault.
Mr O'Connell had originally been charged with attempted murder but this was changed to murder following a review of evidence.
Mr O'Connell confirmed his name but did not speak.
A date of February 20 has been put forward as a possible trial date.
He will next appear at Cardiff Crown Court on November 14 for a plea and case management hearing
