PENARTH Town Council are developing a number of projects for Penarth and are keen for residents input.

This week the council has launched a community consultation which asks local residents to put forward their views regarding its plans for the future development of its services and the facilities that it runs in the town.

The period of consultation is beginning with an online survey which is now on the council's website.

The council is planning to expand the range and quality of its services and the facilities that it manages and is very keen to hear the priorities of local residents.

Local residents are encouraged to visit the site to complete the survey – which asks for residents’ views on a number of issues including:

• Penarth Town Council’s collaboration with Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales involving the town council taking over the management of Turner House when Ffotogallery move to premises in Cardiff in 2019;

• Potential plans to restore the Cemetery Chapel and utilise it as a flexible community space;

• The facilities on offer within the Paget Rooms;

• The facilities on offer at the Kymin House and grounds.

Residents also have the chance to comment on some issues that are not directly controlled by Penarth Town Council – such as town centre parking – which will allow these views to be passed on the views of local residents to the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

The online survey will be followed up by a number of meetings with local community groups where people will have the opportunity to put across their ideas in more detail concerning the services and facilities that are most relevant to them.

The survey will run until the beginning of October and all residents that respond to the survey will receive feedback.

Hard copies of the survey are also available at the council offices in West House and in the Paget Rooms and the Kymin House (in Welsh and English) for people to pick up and complete in person.
