FIREFIGHTERS descended onto Penarth Marina after receiving reports of a boat fire on Saturday afternoon.
Crews from Penarth and Cardiff Central Fire and Rescue stations attended the incident at Pont Y Werin alongside emergency service colleagues.
Firefighters took two hours to bring the blaze under control, but despite successfully extinguishing the blaze, the yacht was destroyed.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue services said: “At approximately 12.22pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, we received reports of a boat fire on Pont Y Werin, Cardiff.
“Crews from Penarth and Cardiff Central Fire and Rescue Station attended the incident, alongside emergency services colleagues.
“A yacht was destroyed in the fire; a stop message was received at approximately 2.03pm.”
South Wales Police were also approached for comment.
