Poetic lament

WE – and I don’t just mean me – are really sick of all the changes we see.

Cardiff for so long now, is a heap of rubble, and how!

The Hayes, Cardiff, once such a pleasure, for buses stop there and shopping in full measure.

Not far for disabled and elderly to walk around, with hardly any traffic sound.

Do we really need more shops to walk around until one drops?

The station changes I’ve yet to tell, if the changes there go really well!

Is it all really worthwhile - just to give dear Cardiff a bit more style?

It’s only going to look like any other big city, for our little city was once so pretty.

Now it seems its moved outside, from this upheaval cannot hide.

Llandough is practically cut-off, for a bus-lane we have to scoff!

The poor residents now isolated for these changes now so hated.

Not even shopping facilities there, don’t the local authorities care?

Not long since completed roundabout, such congestion, delays made everyone shout.

Hardly any buses go this way, i’m so very sad to say.

To visit Llandough Hospital a nightmare, at most, bus every hour and half there!

I usually on my return journey, have to either take a bus to Barry or Cardiff the other way, then 92 home, makes it a long day!

Now it seems more upheaval on it’s way, Penarth roundabout - "Do we need all this?" we say.

If they really have to do all this, to stagger it out would be just bliss.

When, oh when, are the powers that be - going to behave more sensibly.
