Why £4 million?

A BRIDGE at Pont y Werin is needed urgently - although perhaps it is the £4 million estimated cost that is the stumbling block.

This does seem a lot of money for essentially a footbridge, even one that has a rising bit in it.

Are there any cheaper alternatives that would still be acceptable to whoever is demanding this particular design?

For me a crossing is what is needed – and why spend £4 million if there is a £2 million alternative?

Is a subway a consideration? After all, there used to be one.
