BOTH PENARTH comprehensive schools produced excellent A Level results again this year, with some remarkable individual performances.
At St Cyres, the 113 students gained no fewer than 180 A grades with an overall pass rate of 98 per cent.
And 84 per cent of results achieved were at grades A to C.
Some 96 students also passed the Advanced Diploma of the Welsh Baccalaureate - the equivalent of an A Grade at A-level.
Alexandra Boudier, Roshni Hirani, Azeem Khan, David Price and Megan Roberts all achieved five A grades.
Victoria Boudier, Benjamin Brownhill, Scott Ellis, Sophie Hurcom, Adam Lewis, Michael McLundie, Sophie Parry, Samuel Rees and Ceri Smith gained four A grades each.
At Stanwell, 22 students achieved four A grades or better - with the top nine students achieving five grade As or better.
A quarter of Stanwell pupils achieved three A grades or better - with the average points score per pupil exceeding three A grades (31 points per student).
The top Stanwell students were Alice Jardine and William Yang who achieved a remarkable six A grades each.
James Mirza-Davies, Mark Morgan, Rhiannon Morgan, Tim Graham, Jack Hackett, Freya Smith and Jack Williams all gained five A grades.
Pupils studying maths and history did particularly well, with 29 and 23 A grades achieved respectively.
Mr Lewis, Head of Maths, said: “It is a delight when the hard work and talent of so many Stanwell students is rewarded with top grades.
“Individual results include students with full marks, which can only be achieved with hard work and outstanding ability.”
Mr Penny, Head of Year 13, was pleased at the number of students achieving the required grades for their first choice university.
“We are proud of them all,” he said.
