Penarth Town 1
Kenfig Hill 3
WITH Kenfig Hill one of the contenders to win the league, Penarth had the chance to show they could compete with the best - but a more organised and experienced team came away with the points.
A confident Kenfig team took the game to Penarth, and by the time the home side managed to find any rhythm, they were 2-0 down after 15 minutes.
As the first half went on, Penarth gained the upper hand and applied pressure, and found a goal through Haiden who scored directly from a corner.
But it seemed to make Penarth sit back, and it wasn't long before Kenfig Hill again used their height advantage to score a third.
With a formation change at half-time, Penarth came out a different side.
Haiden, Gadge, Scouse, Johnny C and Damo in midfield were starting to outclass the opposition midfield, and Wiggy and James up front were getting chances - but a very good Kenfig side dealt with the pressure and held out for a deserved win.
Man of the match Chris Bramhill (Scouser).
Penarth Town FC would like to invite new players who would like a chance to play Welsh Amateur League football to training on Thursday nights, at 8.15pm at Barry Sports Centre, or contact club secretary Phil Carter on 07788 493557.
