PENARTH YOUTH 12
DINAS POWYS YOUTH 10
THIS was a hard fought game with both sides showing great defensive ability.
It was always going to be a close match and Dinas Powys could have stolen it in the final minutes.
Penarth scored first. After some good forward pressure, the ball came to the backs who almost got to the try line, but from the resulting ruck, Penarth scored the try went unconverted.
Penarth had more pressure but could not turn it into points, and Dinas then scored a penalty.
The second Penarth try came after superb handling from the backs, and saw Tom Luck score under the posts. James Candy converted.
Dinas went back on the attack with a good break and from the resulting scrum scored a try which was converted.
The last 10 minutes were all about defence, and good relieving kicking saw Penarth home to the narrowest of wins.
Two wins from two league games is a great start for the Penarth boys.
