BIRKBY Jean Sophia Jean passed away peacefully, at the Waverley Care Centre, Penarth, on May 28th 2023. Dearly beloved wife of Ron, much adored mother of Elizabeth, and a much loved sister and Aunt. Former staff member at St Cyres and Stanwell Comprehensive Schools and ex Captain at Penarth Bowling Club. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Resting at James Summers Funeralcare, Lavernock Road, Penarth, CF64 5UP, until the funeral service on Friday 16th June at Cardiff & Glamorgan Crematorium, Barry at 3pm. Family flowers only but donations in lieu, may be made to Alzheimer's Research UK, 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge CB21 6AD.

I saw the name Birkby and then read further that this was Ron Birkby’s wife. My condolences to such a wonderful and remembered teacher. Condolences to all the family.
