LINGARD William Sydney (Syd) Sadly passed away following a short illness on 17 August, aged 92, surrounded by his family. Loving husband of Gwynedd, father of Tony and Ross, grandfather to Joseph and David, great-grandfather to Sophie and George and grandfather-in law to Lucy and Gina. An ex-Welsh diving and gymnastic champion, Syd was a diving coach and for many years ran gymnastic clubs in both Penarth and Cardiff. His family and those who were fortunate to know him will greatly miss his kindness, generosity, creativity, and his unique sense of humour. The funeral will take place at Barry Crematorium at 11am on 5th September, and mourners are invited to join his family afterwards at St Andrews Major Golf Club.
