PUPILS and staff from a Penarth primary school have filmed their own version of Do They Know its Christmas? in a bid to raise money for the Ebola Crisis Fund.
Decked out in Christmas jumpers the whole school sang their own version of the Band Aid 30 hit that was released in the build up to Christmas. The St Joseph’s RC Primary School head teacher came up with the idea, with Year Six teacher Richard Frost filming the music video in one day.
“It took a lot of co-operation from teachers and pupils,” he said.
“We made sure everyone learnt the words and the rest of the song.
“Everybody pitched in and helped, and it was a real team effort.”
Copies of the music video, with 150 sold at the school’s Christmas Fair, have raised more than £300 for the charity.
“It was a really lovely thing to do and to raise all that money was fantastic,” added Richard.
He added that it was the first time the school had recorded a music video, and they were now thinking of doing another one next year.
