A REGISTERED local charity is reaching out to vulnerable people with underlying health conditions in the Dinas Powys area in order to offer support during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern is working in partnership with Dinas Powys Medical Centre to send a letter from the charity to around 220 residents in the Dinas Powys and District who have been identified as having underlying health problems.
They have been advised to stay at home for a duration of 12 weeks during which time they should shield themselves from physical contact with others.
The letter gives information about the help and support that DPVC can offer and how to contact the DPVC Coordinators, Wendy and Judith for assistance with shopping, collecting and delivering prescriptions and telephone calls at regular intervals to ensure that they are safe and if any help is needed.
Cllr John Fanshaw said the charity was very busy throughout the community.
He said: “We are still keen to offer further assistance. We are very experienced in co-ordinating volunteers and know the importance of proper safe guarding procedure.
“If you need any help at this difficult time, do not hesitate to telephone Judith or Wendy”.
If you need support or know somebody who does, contact Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern on: 029 2051 3700.
Alternatively, email the charity at: befriendingdpvc@gmail.com. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 3pm. For more information, visit: dpvc.org.uk/
