A DARING rescue operation took place in Dinas Powys after a cat got stuck under a solar panel.
Rocket the cat had been stuck on a roof all night after she somehow got herself stuck under solar panels atop a house in on Cherry Close in Dinas Powys.
The following morning RSPCA and fire fighters - who received a call that morning - were at the scene.
A member of the public who witnessed the rescue, Kathy Edwards, said: “After a lot of persuasion – because the cat was going from one side to another – the fireman got hold of her head and a leg.
“After some gentle pulling, he got hold of Rocket and descended the ladder with the cat in one arm.
“On the ground the RSPCA were waiting with a basket."
"Fortunately, the RSPCA scanned for the microchip before trying to lower her into the cage as she escaped and went like a rocket through the back gardens to home," added Ms Edwards.
“The RSPCA called around to Rocket’s home to return the collar and explain the trauma the cat had experienced.”
The RSPCA has been contacted for comment.
