FINDING an open public toilet has become a hot topic during the pandemic.

While the nation has been encouraged to embrace the outdoors and venture out for exercise, the lack of toilets has made being outdoors for long periods a problematic issue.

With the Welsh Government’s “stay local” rule now lifted; it is likely that people will be travelling to different areas within Wales and will want to know the loo situation.

Help is at hand from Lockdown Loos, an online map showing the UK’s open public toilets. Here’s where they are located in the Vale of Glamorgan:

  • Penarth Cliff Top Car park
  • Penarth Pier
  • Promenade, Barry Island
  • Romilly Park, Barry
  • Porthkerry Country Park, Barry
  • Harbour Road Car Park, Barry
  • Eastern Shelter, Barry Island
  • Western Shelter, Barry Island
  • Cosmeston Medieval Village
  • Cosmeston Visitor Centre
  • Pound Field, Boverton Road, Llantwit Major
  • Town Hall car park, Llantwit Major
  • Llantwit Major Beach

MORE NEWS:

Loos were shut at the start of the coronavirus lockdown, to prevent the spread of Covid-19. However, the majority remained open during the lockdown that started on December 20.

Some very helpful types set up Lockdown Loo earlier this year, so that people across the UK could pin the location of open toilets that they found on to a map.
