AN electric scooter rider was ordered by a court to pay more than £800 for using it without insurance.
Kasim Abdul Gehlan, 23, of St Paul's Avenue, Penarth, was caught on Penlan Road, Llandough, last Halloween.
At Cardiff Magistrates’ Court it was proven in his absence that he used a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance on October 31, 2020.
Gehlan was also found guilty of riding the scooter without due care and attention and failing to stop.
He was ordered to pay £836 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
His driving record was endorsed with eight points.
