A DRINK driver who was caught more than twice the limit has been banned from driving and fined £2,000.
Alex Collins, 22, of Cornerswell Road, Penarth, was stopped on Newby Court in Cardiff on May 1 in a Mercedes C250.
He gave a reading of 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Collins pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without due care and attention.
At Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, he was banned for 18 months and fined £2,050.
He was also ordered to pay a £190 surcharge and £85 costs.
