THE number of coronavirus cases in the Vale of Glamorgan increased by 34 in 24 hours, official figures show.
A total of 8,072 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in the Vale of Glamorgan when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on July 16 (Friday), up from 8,038 on Thursday.
The rate of infection in the Vale of Glamorgan now stands at 6,043 cases per 100,000 people, lower than the Wales average of 7,279.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 51,273 over the period, to 5,332,371.
Wales has recorded 1,806 cases, and three new deaths, taking Wales' total death toll to 5,589.
