A PENARTH bar and restaurant fell victim to a burglary where bottles upon bottles of expensive alcohol was taken.
Bar 44, on Windsor Road, Penarth, was broken into in the early hours of Tuesday, September 21.
Owen Morgan, one third of the brains behind Bar 44, tweeted about the incident saying it occured at around 5am and police have been on scene.
The front door glass was smashed in and the person left with a "bin full of spirits from the bar".
"It was very distressing to be woken by the police early this morning to hear that a break in had occurred in our Penarth Bar 44," the business said.
"We have operated in Penarth for many years and have never had an issue with vandalism or burglary.
"Having only recently re-opened fully after long periods of enforced lockdown, it is devastating as a family business to have to now pay unnecessary bills to get the damage fixed and replace the stock that was stolen.
