JUST in time for Hallowe’en a local band has released their horror-inspired single.
Altered Myths – a double act featuring Matik (vocals and drums) who lives in Penarth, and Eskay (guitar and bass) who lives in Barry – have launched their new single: 3113.
The new song came out on Friday (October 29) and will be featured on an EP that they will release in the new year.
Matik said: “3113 is our love letter to the horror genre we both grew up with.
“We wanted to create a creepy and twisted heavy pop song and I believe that we have done that.
“We spent the past 18 months reconnecting with ourselves and our music. We hibernated until the time was right.
“We've been in Safehouse studio, in Oxford, putting together our next two EPs. We believe the world is ready to believe in us.”
3113 will be the first track featured on the band’s Revamped EP set to release in 2022.
The single includes a YouTube video, directed by Matik, which includes lyrics to the track, and graphics by Lee Waters.

The rockers, who have both been playing their instruments for more than 20 years, love performing to crowds – something that’s been limited over the past 18 months due to the Covid pandemic.
Matik has described their shows as an “exhilarating clash of pantomime and mosh-pit therapy” and people can get their fix at Altered Myths’ upcoming headline show.
They will be at Vulcan Lounge, in Cardiff, on November 20 with support band Mawpit. The show will kick-off at 9pm, with tickets for £3 on the door.
