HUNDREDS of people recently wrapped up warm and braved the chill of winter to watch a live re-telling of the Nativity.
With the countdown to Christmas ticking down, Eden Church Penarth picked up where it left off two years ago to run their twelfth Nativity.
The performance which included more than 45 cast members and crew plus a brass band, took place from 4pm on Sunday December 12, at Cosmeston Lakeside with guests trated to mince pies and mulled wine in the Tithe Barn following the show.
More than 200 people – young and old – gathered for the free community event, with children getting involved in the outdoor production when the angel and shepherds arrived at the manger.
Mark Frost, from the church which is based on Stanwell Road in Penarth, said: “The lakeside setting turned out to be a good one as the large crowd enjoyed the narrated story told with the help of music and striking lighting as the light dimmed into darkness.
“More than 45 cast and crew made this live event happen and all for free to the local Penarth community. Visitors were also offered refreshments and a family Christmas pack.
“Though dark and cold, it was good to see so many people stay afterwards and connect outdoors.”
