AN INDEPENDENT business is closing its doors for good after 80 years in Penarth.

Kitchener & Thomas Ltd, on Windsor Road, was established in 1942, with its current owner manning the helm for 50 years.

The business, which serves people in Penarth and throughout the Vale of Glamorgan, currently sells a range of electronics including:

  • Fridges;
  • Dishwashers;
  • Cooking appliances;
  • Televisions;
  • Heating, and more.

Kitchener & Thomas Ltd is closing due to “retirement” and “unforeseen circumstances” and will have a closing down sale.

Posting the news on social media on Sunday (July 3), the team at Kitchener & Thomas Ltd wrote:

“To all our customers old and new after much consideration it is with great sadness that due to retirement and unforeseen circumstances Kitchener & Thomas will be closing its business.

“We will be having a closing down sale with great discounts off all remaining stock. We hope you come and take advantage of these savings.

“We would like to say thank you for your custom and many continued friendships over the last 50 years.”

The business has not yet announced its closing date with remaining stock to be on sale in the meantime.

Kitchener & Thomas Ltd is open from 9am to 5.30pm on weekdays and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.
