A NEW laser surgery clinic will be opening later this month in Penarth.

Samantha Maunder will be opening the appropriately-named Samantha Maunder Skin & Laser on Tuesday, October 18.

The clinic, located at the Milkshed on Machen Street, will be opened to the public on Tuesday, November 1.

Services offered at the clinic include tattoo removal, hair removal, carbon laser peel and other non-laser skin therapies.

Ms Maunder said: "I've been in the beauty industry for 12 years now and it's something I've always wanted to do laser and advanced treatments. 

"I got to do some training after lockdown and it's taken a year to find and renovate the premises, but here we are."

Ms Maunder lives in Barry, but is from Penarth originally and is looking to move back to the town.

"There's nobody else really doing what I'm going to be doing in Penarth," said Ms Maunder.

"I'm going to be the only licenced hair removal, laser specialist and tattoo removal specialist in Penarth.

"I don't want to be a salon clinic, I want to be a clinic.

"I want to be healthcare, I want to be as professional as possible."
