A family-run residential care home in Penarth has been sold for the first time in almost 40 years.
Parkside House Care Home, on the town’s Park Road, was sold for the first time since 1987.
The founding owners decided to sell up in order to retire.
The sale was conducted by property adviser, Christie and Co and purchased by Serenity Healthcare Limited.
This is the third home the group has bought through Christie and Co, and the first residential dementia home on its portfolio.

Associate director at Christie and Co Oliver McCarthy, who handled the sale, said the home was in safe hands for the future.
“I am really pleased to have sold Parkside House to Serenity Healthcare Ltd. This is a great home that compliments their expanding portfolio in South Wales," said Mr McCarthy.
“The transactional care market in the Southwest and Wales was buoyant last year, and we’re seeing this continue in 2023, as buyer appetite remains high for a range of assets across the region.”
Christie and Co said Parkside House Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
