WE have been inundated with letters and one of the hot topics at the moment is Barry Leisure Park owner Henry Danter’s desire to build a holiday camp off Hayes Road in Sully.

Here’s some peoples' thoughts.

Well Mr Danter no way am I jealous and stupid like you referred people to be that are not agreeing to your hideous and very inconsiderate proposal to build a holiday home next to Ty Hafan and Beechwood college, you have no idea on the impact that this would cause.

So I feel like you said no point in flogging a dead horse, just walk away and concentrate on that run-down fun fair you have.

Although I understand and would love to see more jobs available for people, it just doesn't make sense

I am against Mr Danter building a holiday camp near Ty Hafan hospice.

I don't know why Mr Danter would think building a holiday camp so close to the hospice would be a good idea.

Although I understand and would love to see more jobs available for people around the Vale it just doesn't make sense for it to be developed in that area.

Can you imagine sitting in the tranquillity gardens with your dying child and hearing loud music and families enjoying themselves when you’re having your last moments with your child.

Mr Danter should just concentrate on looking after the fayre down Barry Island which isn't in great shape as it is!

Ty-Hafan is the closest place to heaven on earth

Ty-Hafan is the closest place to heaven on earth when you have a dying child, and as a parent, you need support, peace and safety. The Vale is big enough to find a more suitable place for a fun fair.

I wish that man would sell the land to someone with a massive heart and donates it to Ty-Hafan, then, for many years, vulnerable children and families will have peace of mind that when that horrific time comes when they have to say goodbye it will still be a peaceful wonderful place it is today. I doubt that will happen, but let’s hope who ever buys it does something that will not affect Ty-Hafan, or could benefit all the vulnerable children that need Ty-Hafan.
