We went and met manager Aram Rasuli, who recently moved from London to Barry to ensure the people of the town don’t miss out on the latest craze to hit the drinks market.
Boba tea, or bubble tea, is originally a Taiwanese recipe made by blending tea with milk, fruit and fruit juices, then adding tapioca pearls and shaking vigorously.
The tapioca pearls, which you find at the bottom of the cup, also known as tapioca balls, are edible translucent spheres produced from tapioca, a starch made from the cassava root.

When we went, Mr Rasuli made us a refreshing (ice cold) Kiwi boba tea, with incredible green pearls found at the bottom of the cup.
Using the shaking machine and sealing it in a plastic cup, boba tea is a cool refreshing drink perfect to have on the go through summer.
Barry’s first boba tea shop also offers ice cream and waffles.
Mr Rasuli said the opening, which took place on Saturday, June 24, went well, and so far things have been great in Barry.
Find Boba Tea at number nine on Barry High Street, open from 10.30am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
