CREWS from RNLI Barry were called into action yesterday after reports of multiple people struggling in the water near Fontygary.
Barry Dock RNLI lifeboat assisted Rhoose lifeguards who were out training, to rescue a group of boys in difficulty in the water west of the holiday park on Tuesday, September 4.
All people in difficulty were rescued and taken to shore, with one person requiring further medical attention.
The casualty who needed further care after being passed onto the lifeboat was handed over to the Barry Coastguard and the Welsh Ambulance Services.
The RNLI has praised 13-year-old Soloman Bartram from Rhoose Lifeguards and Jon O’Callaghan for their professionalism while assisting the rescue.
