PENARTH Esplanade will be closed to all traffic on the weekend due to hosting an outdoor art festival.
The event will take place across the town centre and along the pier, with entertainment throughout the day, September 16.
To the sea festival will feature multiple immersive circus and dance performances, including walkabout characters, street performers and a spectacular tightrope walk across the sea later in the evening.
As a result roads around the event will be closed from early morning until late Saturday evening.
Plymouth ward councillors for Penarth Cllr Rhys Thomas and Cllr Anthony Earnest issued the following statement.
“The Esplanade will be closed to all but Emergency Traffic all day Saturday, and consequently, there will be increased traffic in Bridgeman Road, Park Road, Holmesdale Place, Marine Parade and Upper Plymouth Road.
“Could residents ensure that their vehicles are not locked in on the Esplanade during the day, to avoid parking penalties and being able to access their vehicles.”
Road closures will be in place along Cliff Hill for the duration of the event, heavy traffic is expected in the area.
Roads effected by the closure are Bridgeman Road, Park Road, Holmesdale Place, Marine Parade and Upper Plymouth Road with congestion.
