The spooky season is upon us and with Hallowe'en approaching most people will be looking for the perfect pumpkin to mark the occasion.
Instead of buying a pumpkin from a local supermarket, why not make it a fun experience for the family and visit a pumpkin patch
Here are the Barry and District News and Penarth Times we compiled the top four pumpkin patches to visit across the Vale of Glamorgan and the surrounding area.
Cardiff Pumpkin Festival – St Nicholas
Located just outside of Cardiff, Coedarhydyglyn Park will be hosting a pumpkin festival with three different sessions available.
The pumpkin patch is open from Saturday, October 14 to Tuesday, October, 31
It is located at Coedarhydyglyn Park, St Nicholas, CF5 6SF
Tycoch Farm - Pyle
Located in Porthcawl, this farm has a lot to offer for the autumn experience. They have a variety of more than 20 pumpkins, along with a Hallowe'en maze.

Pumpkins are priced at £1 for a small, £3.50 for a medium, £6 for a large and £8 for an extra large. It's open from October, 7 to October, 31 for pumpkin picking.
It is located at Tycoch Farm. Pyle. CF33 4RR
Greenfield Farm - Bonvilston
Located in Bonvilston on the A48, this pick-your-own farm has plenty of pumpkins to choose from.
The farm offers daytime and twilight picking sessions to choose a pumpkin under the stars.

Forage Farm - Cowbridge
Located at Llwynhelig, this farm offers a pick-your-own pumpkin experience.
The pumpkin patch is open from Saturday, October 14 to Tuesday, October 31.

It is located at Penllyn Estate Farm Llwynhelig, Cowbridge CF71 7FF
Clearwell Farm, Cardiff
Located between Cardiff and Newport, this farm offers a fun family day out with more than 20 different pumpkins to choose from.

The farm opens on Saturday, October 7, for pumpkin picking from 9.30am until the last booking at 5am.
It is located at Michaelston-y-Fedw, Cardiff CF3 6XT.
