A PENARTH artist is using his work to support the children of Ukraine.
Richard O‘Connell is a well-known face in the Welsh art scene – following him studying art at Swansea, Norwich, and Oxford he has gone on to win awards and hold exhibitions all over the UK.
He has paintings in private and public collections in Cardiff, London, and The Welsh Maritime Museum in Swansea.
An art exhibition of his work is currently being held at Waterloo Tea, on Stanwell Road in Penarth, in support of the Ukrainian Children’s charity.
All the artwork is for sale with donations to Ukrainian children.
The Children of Ukraine Foundation aims to improve the quality of life and build brighter futures for Ukrainian children and to provide humanitarian relief to those impacted by Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The exhibition, which will be on display until January 5, includes still life pictures of flowers and fruit – some of the flowers use the colours of the Ukrainian national flag (blue and yellow). There are also paintings of fruit and glass objects.
The show runs at Waterloo Tea in Penarth until Friday, January 5, 2024.
