CREWS from Penarth RNLI were called to an incident to assist emergency service in Cardiff Bay on Friday, December 29.
A lifeboat was launched by HM Coastguard in Penarth at 5.30am on Friday to reports of an incident at Cardiff Bay.
RNLI volunteers assisted South Wales Fire and Rescue services, but nothing was found, and the crew stood down.
A spokesperson for RNLI Penarth said: “On December 29 at 5.30am to an incident in Cardiff Bay to assist South Wales Fire and Rescue services.
“Nothing was found so the volunteer crew stood down and left the Police to continue their investigations.
“The lifeboat returned to Penarth in readiness for service, on a early cold morning for hot cups of tea and some breakfast. The crew returned to readiness also.”
South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Services were approached for comment.
