FLOOD alerts are in place for rivers in the Vale.
Natural Resources Wales has placed a flood alert on the River Thaw which runs through Cowbridge and the centre of the Vale.
NRW said: "River levels have responded to recent rainfall. Levels are above normal levels.
"Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected."
NRW has also placed a flood alert on the River Ely, covering the western edge of Cardiff, and the northern part of Penarth.
On the river, NRW said: “River levels are expected to respond to the forecast rainfall.
"Levels are expected to be above normal (however) flooding of Low-lying land and roads is expected.
"There is a six to 10 hour time of travel between Lanelay and Peterston Super Ely."
There has been incidents of flash flooding in the county.
South Wales Police reported a submerged vehicle on the B4265 near the roundabout between Morfa Lane and Cowbridge Road round Llantwit Major yesterday, January 2.
Photos show Llancadle Road in Barry was also flooded yesterday.
