A PENARTH bar has slashed its prices and rolled back the years to 2002 to celebrate more than two decades of success.
Bar 44 in Windsor Road has reduced tapas and cocktail prices to the same as they were 21 years ago.
The bar will run the offer from Wednesday to Friday and on Saturday until 3pm throughout the month so customers can throw back the years and eat like it's 2002.
It was when a can of Coca-Cola was 45p and a Freddo was 10p and Something Stupid by Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman was number one in the UK singles chart.
The bar is slashing prices to £3.50 for a pint of Estrella, a glass of wine for £3.20 and a cocktail for £5.50, while their Air-Dried Beef & Manchego Caesar Salad is £4.25, or Mushrooms with Sherry & Sage on Toast is £3.95.
The Bar 44 group launched a similar offer last year. Co-founder Natalie Isaac explained, “This is our way of saying a heartfelt thank you to the customers who have supported us over the years - as well as being a welcome pick me up for people who might be feeling the pinch after Christmas.
“It proved wildly popular last year so we are looking forward to doing it again.”
