A WOMAN was arrested and is due to appear in court after a crash in Penarth, in which an iconic location was damaged.
Photos show mangled fence panels next to that iconic entrance to popular Penarth green space Dingle Park.
It can now be revealed the reason for the damage was down to a suspected drink driver.
Police arrested a woman in the early hours of Sunday morning, February 4, after the crash off the roundabout where Windsor Road and Plassey Street meet.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Police responded to reports of a single car road traffic collision on Windsor Road, Penarth just after midnight in early hours of Sunday, February 4.
“The driver was arrested and charged for drink driving, and for driving without due care and attention.
“She is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates court on February 27.”
