Thrill-seeking fundraisers have six weeks to sign up for a Tŷ Hafan skydiving challenge.

This new venture allows participants to perform a tandem skydive, diving a dizzying 10,000ft over Swansea Airfield on August 10.

It is limited to just 25 spaces and promises speeds of up to 120mph during the descent.

James Davies-Hale, head of fundraising for Tŷ Hafan, said: "We are so excited about our amazing new Tŷ Hafan Skydive fundraiser.

"It is the very first time we have done anything like this and we are sure that thrillseekers will absolutely love it."

No prior experience is needed as training will be provided on the day.

The only prerequisites are that participants must be over 18-years-old and be prepared to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship.

Mr Davies-Hale continued: "When a child’s life will be short no family should have to live it on their own.

"Yet right now just one in 10 children who desperately need palliative care services are able to access support from Tŷ Hafan and we need to be able to reach every child who needs us."

With the skydive, participants will be fulfilling personal bucket list achievements and aiding the charity in helping those with life-shortening conditions.

The skydive is one of three new fundraising events launched by the children's hospice.

A 10K run in Ogi Porthcawl is scheduled for July 7 and for the first time, Tŷ Hafan is offering places to run and raise funds.

On September 14, Tŷ Hafan’s new 'Walk To Remember' is also on offer for those who prefer a slower pace.

Participants will walk from Penarth to the hospice in Sully, setting off at dawn and raising funds in remembrance of loved ones while watching an early autumn sunrise.
