A choral jazz and blues concert will be taking place in Penarth on June 22.
Audiences are set to enjoy an evening of jazz, blues and summery choral merriment at St Augustine’s Church, Penarth.
The Concert of Choral Jazz & Blues will highlight the famed Welsh chamber choir, Cantemus, offering a performance alongside Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, previously one of the globally acclaimed Swingles singers.
Under the guidance of director Huw Williams, the music ensemble is set to present Will Todd’s Mass in Blue, with Joanna as the soloist.
Other performances will include 'playful and relaxed' music from John Rutter and George Shearing.
A jazz trio comprising Jeff Howard on piano, Graham Tuck on the double bass, and Nick Baron supplying the percussion will provide accompaniment.
Joanna Forbes L’Estrange said: "I’ve given numerous performances of Mass in Blue in England and I also gave its Scottish premiere…and so I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to perform it in Wales for the first time.
"Having been born in Bangor, Wales will always hold a special place in my heart."
Tickets are available at £15/7.50 from Ticketsource. There will also be a glass of Pimms on offer.
