Work to bring 'Gigabit' connectivity to Dinas Powys has been completed.
This marks the completion of two years of ambitious efforts by Ogi, the Wales-based telecoms company, to provide the town with state-of-the-art broadband.
This move brings advanced, reliable internet services to homes and businesses in the area for the first time.
Vale of Glamorgan Council leader Councillor Lis Burnett hailed the initiative back in 2022 as "more important than ever" saying: "This scheme will provide residents in Dinas Powys with fast, reliable broadband, something that is absolutely vital in the modern world."
The construction saw more than 45 miles of fibre installed across the town, giving more than 3,500 premises access to reliable internet services from £15 per month, customer support available seven days a week, and an internet service rated as 'Excellent'.
Functioning as a community sponsor, Ogi's community engagement team has been actively involved in various events over the last few years, from litter pickings to communal garden builds.
Their support has gone beyond just sponsorship; they've donated more than £5,000 to worthwhile causes and volunteered more than 50 hours of staff time.
Community engagement lead, Louise Clement, thanked the community, saying: "We’re chuffed to bring our full fibre network to Dinas Powys, bringing access to the best possible broadband services to the town for the first time.
"A big diolch to the Dinas Powys community for working with us during the construction phase.
"The support has been invaluable in helping us bring this new connectivity to the town as soon as possible."
This initiative is part of Ogi’s commitment to expand and improve connectivity across Wales, pushing Dinas Powys to the forefront of digital connectivity by delivering speeds of up to 25-Gbps.
