A PENARTH opticians is expanding as a result of a £400,000 investment.
Specsavers Penarth, located on Windsor Road, will officially relaunch on Saturday, August 3, following investment from store partners, Andrew Moss and James Deavall.
The pair made the investment to help accommodate the increasing demand for eye tests and audiology clinics in the area. To provide additional space, an extra test room has been added, taking the store from three to four test rooms.
In addition, in-store displays were also upgraded as part of the expansion, and the store will act as a training and development centre for Specsavers staff across South East Wales.
Andrew Moss, who became director of the Penarth store last July, said: "The brand-new renovation, complete with state-of-the-art technology, allows us to continue providing vital services to the people of Penarth.
"It also helps take the pressure off the NHS, by providing clinical expertise on the high street.
"After five successful years running the Cowbridge Specsavers store, I understand what customers are looking for, as Cowbridge and Penarth share a lot of similarities."
Mr Moss added: "I have also taken pride in engaging with and supporting the local community and giving back to the locals who give so much to us.
"We’ve raised money for a local foodbank, special educational needs school and other fantastic causes, and we are planning a relaunch party later in the summer with community and charity-led events being planned to celebrate. I’m excited to see what the future will bring."
The store will remain open as usual ahead of the official reopening.
Additionally, to make eye health accessible to all, the store offers a Home Visits service for those unable to leave their homes unaccompanied due to disability or illness.
