A charity cricket tournament took place in Dinas Powys last weekend.

The Dinas Powys Cricket Ground buzzed with excitement on Sunday, June 23, attracting cricket enthusiasts for the charity event.

The Cardiff Cameos organised the tournament with support from sponsors Bellavista Group of Nursing Homes, Little Kochi Restaurant Cardiff, and Infinity Mortgages and Insurance.

Four teams, namely FCC Newport, Cardiff Malayalee Association, Newport Tyrant CC, and Swansea Spartans played their hearts out in a thrilling contest.

After a series of enthralling games, Newport Tyrant CC and Cardiff Malayalee Association reached the final.

Eventually, Newport Tyrant CC outplayed their opponents to be declared the winners.

The chairman of Bellavista Group of Nursing Homes handed over the trophy to the triumphant Newport Tyrant CC in the award ceremony.

Additionally, a raffle was organised to supplement the charitable cause.

Winners included Sathya, Emily, and Rense George.

Saneesh Chandran, chairman of the Cardiff Cameos, announced and distributed the prizes while extending gratitude to everyone who partook in the raffle.

The nifty charity cricket tournament successfully amassed a sum of £1,001 through the raffle.

The proceeds were donated to the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth.

The representative of Cardiff Cameos, Aswin Anbu, Nevin Sanee and Mr Chandran himself, presented the collected funds to the hospice.

The sponsors and everyone involved in the event received a heartfelt thanks for their participation and contributions to its success.
