A Penarth green space has been given a Green Flag Award for the fourth year in a row.
On Tuesday, July 16, Friends of Victoria Square received the accolade which recognises well-managed parks and green spaces.
Since 2020, the group has actively focused on the upkeep and enhancement of Penarth's Victoria Square, including its ecology and biodiversity.
This has been facilitated through grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Welsh Government.
The volunteer-led initiative offers Penarth residents and visitors a natural haven for recreation and promotes community involvement in conservation activities.
The Friends of Victoria Square also have an open call for new members and volunteers, assuring new recruits that they will be trained. No specific skills are required to join, just enthusiasm for caring for the space.
The group promises regular community events, and further information can be accessed at the Friends of Victoria Square website or on their Facebook page.
The Green Flag Award validates the Friends of Victoria Square's dedicated efforts to make Victoria Square a key community asset.
