A jewellery designer from Penarth is helping to organise the biggest burlesque festival ever seen in Wales.
Known as Oola Pearl on stage, Ceri Lambert has been a part of the burlesque scene for seven years.
Last year, she became a professional performer on top of her work as a jewellery designer.
Now, she's an award-winning artist who performs in shows around the UK and Europe.
This August bank holiday, however, she's involved in her most significant project so far as she helps her burlesque teacher FooFoo Labelle to put together the Wales Burlesque Festival, a four-day event happening at CHAPTER arts centre from Thursday, August 22, to Sunday, August 25.
Ms Lambert said: "FooFoo and I have been planning the festival for nearly 18 months, so there has been a lot of blood, sweat and rhinestones to get to this point.
"It started as a "what if…" conversation over dinner and has taken on a life of its own."
Having received more than 250 applications from around the world, the organisers have a diverse programme of performers and styles, and some of the biggest names in UK burlesque are also set to attend.
The line-up features four shows, eight workshops, meetups and stalls.
She wants to attract new audiences to the 'glamorous, silly and sparkly traditional art form.'
Ms Lambert added: "Cardiff Cabaret Club and the wider burlesque scene have given me so much confidence, as well as a life as a performer I could never have imagined.
"I’m just so happy to be able to give something back.
"There are loads of professional shows to watch, but also community groups who are learning about burlesque together and enjoying learning the history, dancing and costuming," she added on the community of burlesque.
Tickets for the festival and its workshops are on sale now. The event is suitable for those over the age of 18 and is perfect for those wanting to try something different or friend groups looking for a great night out. More information can be found at the Wales Burlesque Festival website.
