There will be comedy and spoken word events at the Glee Club in Cardiff throughout August.

On August 2 and 3, the Friday Night Comedy and Saturday Night Comedy will see performances by Ricky Balshaw, Jack Gleadow, Vince Atta, Funmbi Omotayo and Paul Dennis.

Another highlight of the month is the spoken word evening with Lucinda Light on August 7. This event is sold out.

The focus shifts to new talent on August 8 with the New Act Showcase.

Friday and Saturday Night Comedy will see Matt Rees, Jake Lambert, Tom Toal and Jonny Awsum perform on August 9 and 10.

On August 16 and 17, the Friday and Saturday Night Comedy will return. The line-up includes Peter Rethinasamy, Javier Jarquin, Tom Deacon, and Simon Wozniak.

On August 23 and 24, the stage will be taken by Pete Selwood, Funmbi Omotayo, Lost Voice Guy, and Jo Enright.

There will also be All In Comedy on August 29, featuring Robin Morgan, Thomas Green, Sol Bernstein, and Ingrid Dahle.

The month ends with performances by Joe Jacobs, Meryl O'Rourke, Thomas Green, and Sol Bernstein on August 30 and 31.

The comedy events are 18+, aside from the new talents event, which is 16+. Tickets and more information can be found at the Glee Club Cardiff website.
