A 'record' number of visitors attended the Penarth Open Gardens trail.
Despite the adverse weather on July 20, a crowd of garden enthusiasts toured the 14 gardens on display for the 28th Annual event.
Visitors travelled from across the country to enjoy a mix of garden styles, including the "Children's Garden" at Penarth Library and the Sully Terrace Allotments.
A moment of rest was found in these vibrant spaces, often accompanied by a warm cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.
Raffle tickets were bought with hopeful attendees looking to win one of the many donated prizes.
The plant sales were particularly successful and the bric-a-brac stall saw many a keen deal secured.
The event organisers extended their gratitude foremost to the garden owners, whose generosity makes the event possible every year.
Appreciation was also shown to the countless visitors, whose financial contributions ensured this year's success.
The Penarth Open Gardens Trail is organised annually, aiming to raise vital funds for "The Children's Society".
This charity does significant work providing specialist support for children to create positive change in their lives.
The Penarth Open Gardens Trail is delighted to donate more than £5,660 to The Children's Society.
This generous sum, given by the visiting public, will go a long way in helping young people and their families work towards a better life.
The event organisers and garden owners are already looking forward to next year's event, hoping to once again bring gardening joy and vital support to this worthy cause.
