An award-winning hospice floral display has opened to the public.

City Hospice's Forever Flowers display is now available for viewing at Cardiff Castle.

Set up in support of the charity and home-based specialist palliative care provider in Cardiff, the display features more than 1,000 limited-edition handcrafted roses.

Each rose is a symbol of love, affection, and respect, and a tribute to the charity's ruby anniversary being celebrated in 2024.

The rose is called the "Remember Me Rose," which is part of the free castle display that will be up until August 11.

People who have purchased a Remember Me Rose were invited to a Celebration of Life event on Thursday, August 8.

This will also be held at Cardiff Castle, with performances from harpist Sam Hickman, The Super Rock Choir, and speeches by various guest speakers.

City Hospice chief executive Liz Booyse said: "Forever Flowers is such a special time in the City Hospice calendar.

"It is a wonderful opportunity for everyone, not just those who were cared for by City Hospice, to remember and celebrate loved ones.

"We are incredibly grateful to be returning to Cardiff Castle for our fourth year.

"Seeing the number of beautiful Remember Me Roses on display reminds us of how important this event is to people in Cardiff and beyond.

"It is especially moving as we celebrate our ruby anniversary this year, marking 40 years of providing specialist palliative care in the community and the expansion of our services over the decades to support more and more people who need us in Cardiff."

She said the celebration of life event is a personal highlight and looked forward to welcoming those who were attending.

Proceeds from Forever Flowers support City Hospice, which has been providing care for the terminally ill and their families, including counselling and support services for the past 40 years.
