A DRUG dealer from Cardiff was caught red-handed by the local police force and sentenced to three years in jail after police found cocaine in street deal bags.

Caerion Chapman, from Grangetown in Cardiff, was caught with drugs and cash when police raided his flat on July 8, 2024.

Detective Constable Jac Homan said: “We caught Chapman red-handed when we turned up to his flat last month and with the community’s help we have put him out of business.

"He’ll now have time to reflect on his business choices in prison which is where anybody who pedals drugs and inflicts misery on the community belongs."

After carrying out a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, South Wales Police officers found 13.8 grammes of cocaine in street deal bags and £2,480 in cash, stashed in a kitchen cupboard.

Along with the money and drugs, officers seized his mobile phone. After analysing it, South Wales Police put Chapman "at the head of a drugs line which distributed cocaine to users".

Weeks after his arrest, Chapman was jailed for three years and four months at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, August 6.

South Wales Police have said they take a "zero-tolerance approach to drug dealing and this investigation is just one example of how we are tackling drug dealing in the community."
