There are dog walks, singing sessions and live musical performances around Penarth this coming week.
Uptight Penarth Soul Night
On Saturday, August 17, Uptight Penarth Soul Night will kick off at 7.30pm at the Penarth Ex-Servicemen's Club. It is a night for lovers of Soul, Tamla, Stax, Northern, R&B, Funk and Disco and many more.
Singing and Social Groups for Older Adults
For older adults who love to sing and socialize, the With Music in Mind's Penarth group host sessions every Wednesday with the exception of the second Wednesday of each month. The next session is this coming Wednesday, August 21.
These sessions, held at St. Augustine’s Parish Hall from 10am to 12pm, are £5 per session and the first time is free.
Pre-booking is essential due to restrictions in numbers.
Rainbow Pooch in the Park
Cosmeston Lakes will host Rainbow Pooch in the Park on Sunday, August 18.
This social dog walk celebrates the bond between the LGBTQIA+ community and their dogs.
It offers a chance for community bonding, friendship-making, and tail wagging joy.
The walk requires pre-registration due to restrictions on the number of dogs.
Visitors are urged to arrive early (1pm meet) as on-road parking is reserved for residents only.
The event is open to those aged 18 and over who identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
