There are a number of events across Penarth this coming week.
The town has something for everyone, from bank holiday parties to social events.
Casa Fiesta bank holiday party
One of the highlights has to be the Casa Fiesta bank holiday party.
Scheduled on Sunday, August 25 until the early hours of Monday, August 26, from 8pm until 3.30am, the team behind Casa Fiesta is inviting all house music lovers to Baroque Penarth for a night of dance and entertainment.
The event - for those aged 18 and above - urges people to go and enjoy the 'Funktion One sound'. Last entry is at 1am and tickets cost £5.
Penarth Lawn Tennis Club BBQ
Penarth Lawn Tennis Club is hosting a BBQ after the Prosecco Cup final on Saturday, August 24.
This event kicks off from 12.45pm where post-Prosecco Cup, meat, bread and salads will be tickling the taste buds of attendees.
Always mindful of diverse dietary requirements, they assure that vegetarian options are available.
Tickets cost £5.
Give a dog a bone
For those longing for immersive and thought-provoking experiences 'Give A Dog A Bone' promises just that.
Coordinated by Kathryn Ashill, whose work traverses the domains of art and health, it promises to delve into the diverse cultural narratives about dogs.
Taking place on Sunday, August 25 from 2.30pm at The Turner House, Penarth, the informal reading group presents a range of collected material varying from films and music videos to essays and podcasts, implying that these might be "highbrow, trashy, personal or political but all completely dog related."
Original band night
Adding to the town's vibrant cultural scene is the Original Band Night at the Penarth Ex-Servicemen's Club.
Dedicated to original music from four bands - SYHR, Daioni, The Trips, and Upstairs at Hanna's - the event will start on Saturday, August 31, with doors opening at 6.45pm.
Singing and Social Groups for Older Adults
Singing and Social Groups organised by 'With Music in Mind's' are held each Wednesday (excluding the second Wednesday of each month) from 10am to 12pm at St. Augustine’s Parish Hall. The next event takes place on Wednesday, August 28 between 10am and midday.
These groups are described as 'informal and inclusive' and come with assurance that the first session is free of charge, making it an attractive option for those looking to enjoy some camaraderie and melody alike.
Places must be booked in advance due to the limited numbers available (can be booked by calling 07500 776295 or emailing info@withmusicinmind.co.uk). Sessions cost £5 per person, with the first session free. Carers go free.
