It is set to be a nice end to August with the Met Office predicting some sunny and warm weather for the weekend.

The Penarth area will experience a summery feel with sunny days predicted from Thursday, August 29, to Monday, September 2.

The Met Office's forecasts show on Thursday, between 9am and midday, there will be sunny intervals among a few cloudy hours.

There is a 10 per cent chance of precipitation, and temperatures will range between 14 and 18 degrees, peaking from 1pm to 5pm.

Friday, August 30, is also predicted to be another sunny day, with a minimal less than five per cent chance of rain.

Though it has a forecasted high of 20 degrees and low of nine degrees, it might feel a little cooler.

According to the Met Office, as the weekend progresses, the weather will bring more warmth despite an onset of extra clouds.

On Saturday, August 31, sunny intervals will be the forecast for much of the day, followed by cloudiness from 7pm.

The day is expected to reach a high of 22 degrees but will feel more like 19 degrees.

Sunday, September 1, and Monday, September 2, are similarly forecasted as days filled with 'sunny intervals'. Temperatures will be between 16 and 23 degrees, respectively, though on Monday it could be cloudy until around 1pm.

The feels-like-temperature might be around a degree less in the afternoon but slightly cooler again in the morning.
