The synopsis for the show is as follows:

"It’s 1905 in the small Russian village of Anatevka where Tevye, a Jewish milkman and his wife Golde live by their proud traditions. For his five daughters, that means a visit from the matchmaker… who is known for her terrible taste in men. Desperate to avoid getting stuck with bad husbands the girls decide to make their own matches, causing uproar in the community.

"With growing anti-Semitism in the town and talk of revolution in the air, Tevye's relationships with his children, his neighbours, and most of all his wife are tried to their limits. Can Tevye hold on to his roots, or must he bend to the will of his family and learn to embrace the strange new ways of this strange new world?"

In this brand-new production directed by Katherine Vostok and Musical Director Jeff Howard, with choreography by Liam Daly The Cardiff Players are celebrating 60 years since Fiddler on the Roof first hit Broadway.

Featuring glorious songs such as, ‘If I Were A Rich Man’, ‘Tradition’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘Sunrise, Sunset’, this classic family-friendly musical is an exuberant celebration of love, life and the importance of community spirit.
