A number of events will be taking place in Penarth this weekend.

These include a wellbeing festival, immersion events and story time for children.

Dawnstalkers: The Gathering

Dawnstalkers: The Gathering will be hosted at the Kymin from September 6 to 8.

The event will feature activities centred on wellbeing, movement, and music, such as yoga, meditation, sound healing, breath work, sauna, silent disco, outdoor cinema, and a fire walk.

Dawnstalkers co-founder Grant Zehetmayr said: "The Dawnstalkers is about bringing people together, and what we really want to do with this three-day gathering is show what’s possible when small individual contributions combine to create something awesome for the community.

"It’ll be fantastic for the Kymin, for the seafront, and for Penarth."

Musical offerings are curated by Tommy, Sarah and Lydia, who will offer fun loving sessions throughout the weekend, with a sauna and cold plunges running throughout.

On the Sunday, a community day is planned featuring picnics, circus, workshops, talks, music, and outdoor cinema in the grounds of The Kymin.

These activities kick off at midday.

The sauna will be available from 7am while the Analogue Music Club starts at 3pm, followed by 'To The Sea' Circus from 6pm, and an outdoor cinema experience from 7.30pm.

Storytime

On Friday, September 6, there's an opportunity for children at the Penarth Library for a Storytime Special session with author Laura Baker, who will be introducing the latest book in her ‘Monsters’ series, "Monsters at School".

This session is a free, but a ticketed event to accommodate the limited space in the library.

Sound Immersion

On Sunday, September 8, a Sound Immersion event will take place at St Paul's Community Centre.

Here, participants are invited to immerse their mind, body and energy into complete rest and deep relaxation using soothing tones and vibrations with gongs, singing bowls, chimes, drumming and tuning forks.

Attendees should bring a bottle of water, yoga mat, cushion, eye mask (optional), blanket, warm socks and warm loose clothing to enhance the experience.

The event starts at 5.30pm, so participants are advised to arrive at 5.20pm to begin.
